Cholesterall

6/17/25:

Feeling a similar pattern of pain in legs after starting Zetia – muscle aches and stiffness in groin, thighs, and calves, while joints seem fine; tendons in same state as since last time, don’t feel any worse since Zetia but still pretty significant. I’m wondering if this isn’t an effect of the drugs in themselves, but rather if their (intended and, in that realm, successful) effect, lowered levels of cholesterol? Maybe some people, individuals or populations, need more cholesterol than others do for everyday functioning? Maybe this is what it’s like for a body like mine to be cholesterol starved? And if that same metabolism doesn’t allow it to combine with calcium and stick together and form plaque on the arteries, what’s the problem with high cholesterol?

Or, might I take the pains in the legs as a wake up call, and itself a first step, toward more fully living in my body, which does indeed bring with it pain and struggle and dissatisfaction?

Or maybe it’s just what happens when you spend your time lying around like a log for so long …
